Visiting Artist Program
The Visiting Artist Program at Artistic Roots offers artists the opportunity to be featured in the gallery for a four-month session while connecting with our creative community and visitors. Each year, we jury four artists to participate across three rotating sessions, with dedicated promotion and a celebratory reception to highlight their work.
Selected Visiting Artists are showcased in the gallery and promoted through our social media, e-newsletter, and other marketing channels, giving their work increased visibility and engagement throughout their session. This program is designed to support artists through meaningful exposure, professional presentation, and ongoing collaboration with Artistic Roots.
We invite artists working in a wide range of media to apply. Applications are reviewed by the Artistic Roots Board of Directors, who select artists for each session. If accepted, artists will receive clear guidance on next steps, expectations, and timelines to ensure a successful and rewarding experience for both the artist and the gallery.

Visiting Artist’s Responsibilities
All required documents are due by the 1st of the month prior to the start of your session. To ensure a smooth and successful experience for everyone, participation in the Visiting Artist Program is contingent upon meeting this deadline.
Submit an Artist’s Statement of 4-5.
Complete and return the Visiting Artist contract and W-9 form.
Ensure all artwork is properly inventoried, tagged, and ready for display on the scheduled installation day.
Maintain a fully stocked display throughout the agreed-upon session period.
Communicate with a Board officer to address any questions or concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
Artistic Roots’s Responsibilities
The following outlines the roles and responsibilities of Artistic Roots in supporting Visiting Artists throughout their session in the gallery.
Provide publicity and promotion, including a news article in a local paper, postings on social media, placement on the Artistic Roots website, and inclusion in the e-newsletter.
Issue monthly payments for items sold, with proceeds distributed 70% to the artist and 30% to the gallery.
Monitor the display and inventory throughout the session and notify the artist of any significant merchandise sales.
Work collaboratively with the Visiting Artist to address and resolve any concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
While the members of Artistic Roots will make every reasonable effort effort to keep all work safe and monitored, Artistic Roots and its members are not liable in any way for loss or damage to artwork.
